What are EFT sessions like ?
If you are new to EFT, in the first session we will also walk through the EFT steps until you feel familiar with the process and then you can start to experience it in action.
EFT tapping therapy is performed in a few simple steps. First, the person identifies their specific feeling, physical issue, or fear, ranking it on a scale of 0 to 10 to identify a benchmark. The same is done at the end of treatment to monitor progress. A phrase, established to help acknowledge the issue and accept oneself despite the problem, is repeated while tapping points are stimulated.
Throughout our sessions, I will lead you in the tapping sequence and guide you on what to say out loud and you will simply mirror this, tapping on yourself and repeating what is said. We will use a distress scale of 0 - 10 which helps you to understand the intensity of feelings at the beginning of a session and the aim is to get that scale down to a very low number or a zero, so that you understand the effect EFT tapping is having throughout the session.
At the end of the session, we will reflect on what you noticed, what you can do to continue at home (where appropriate) and check in on how the original issue has changed.
If you feel nervous, please be assured that the whole process will evolve naturally and will always go at your pace. You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable to discuss.
