What is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is a tool to help you access the area where trauma is stuck in the brain. A Brainspotting treatment is largely non-verbal. Because trauma is stored in the non-verbal part of the brain, “talk therapy” cannot access it effectively. Trauma is stored in the part of the brain known as the amygdala. We have learned that by getting the brain to alternate between left and right hemispheres, the brain and body can reprocess existing stored information or memories. In reprocessing this information, the brain and body are able to ‘clear’ the stuck energy from the trauma. Memories themselves are not lost, but the “emotional charge” from the negative memory will be cleared.

Brainspotting focuses on releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional and body pain, trauma, dissociation, anxiety, PTSD and a variety of other challenging symptoms. It can also be used to overcome addictions and phobias.

Brainspotting works with the deep-brain and the body by accessing the autonomic and limbic systems within the central nervous system.
The focus is on transformational healing of the mind, body and spirit. It is a holistic approach that goes to the core of what is blocking the ability to achieve goals, and live one's best life now.
